Affiliate disclosure
VerdictLab is run by Berry Blockchain Ltd. We pay for the site by earning commission through affiliate links. This page explains how that works.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on our pages go to retailers through an affiliate network. If you click one and then buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. You don't pay any more because of it.
Which networks we use
We work, or have applied to work, with affiliate networks including Awin, CJ (Commission Junction) and Impact, which run programmes on behalf of retailers. Until a programme accepts us, links to that retailer go straight to its official website and we earn nothing from them.
How it affects what we write
- Commission doesn't decide which products we include or what we say about them.
- Retailers can't pay to be included, and they don't review our pages before we publish.
- We don't give ratings or scores, so there's nothing to sell.
- When a guide features a retailer we hope to earn commission from, we say so on the page.
Where you'll see it
Every buying guide has a disclosure line at the top, before any links, so you know before you click.
UK and US rules
In the UK, we aim to follow the CAP Code and the Advertising Standards Authority's guidance on affiliate marketing, which says affiliate content must be obviously identifiable as marketing. In the US, we aim to follow the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, which require a clear disclosure of any material connection with a seller.
How we track clicks
When you click an affiliate link, we may pass a reference code to the retailer or network so the sale can be credited to us. See our privacy notice for exactly what that contains.
